Meet the Team

Justine Calderwood, MSPT

Owner And Founder Of The Healing Spot

Justine Calderwood, MSPT, is Colorado Springs’ leading physical therapist specializing in women’s health during pregnancy and postpartum. Her passion lies in helping women alleviate pain, build confidence, and trust their bodies before and after childbirth. Justine is dedicated to preparing women for their chosen birthing experience, whether at home, a birth center, or hospital, ensuring they feel ready and confident.

In addition to her focus on pregnancy, Justine works with postpartum women to address issues such as pain, incontinence, prolapse, and diastasis. Her goal is to empower women to regain confidence, trust in their bodies, and return to activities like exercise, hiking, and running. However, Justine’s expertise extends beyond motherhood; she welcomes anyone experiencing core or pelvic floor concerns, including bowel or bladder changes, pelvic pain, pain with intercourse, and persistent back, hip, pelvic, or head/jaw pain.

Founding The Healing Spot Physical Therapy, Justine aimed to provide a unique and personalized approach to patient care. Frustrated with the lack of continuity and rushed sessions in traditional healthcare, she ensures her patients receive the time, attention, and resources needed for true recovery. Justine’s small-town Iowa upbringing influenced her commitment to integrity and nurturing, driving her to establish a practice that prioritizes patient well-being.

With a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from The University of Kansas Medical Center (2002), Justine holds certifications as a Birth Healing Practitioner, Advanced Myofascial Release Therapist, Reiki Master Practitioner, and Certified Low-Pressure Fitness Trainer. Beyond her professional pursuits, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two daughters, participating in gym workouts, hiking with their dogs Ollie and Pennie, and engaging in adventurous family activities like traveling, scuba diving, ATV and snowmobile rides, and gatherings with friends and family.

Justine’s commitment to providing quality care and helping individuals avoid medications, injections, and surgery defines her work at The Healing Spot and guides her leadership of The Healing Spot Team. Her dedication stems from witnessing the frustration of individuals told their issues are “normal” after childbirth or attributed to aging without being offered solutions. Justine strives to offer peace of mind and practical solutions, reflecting her deep-seated passion for empowering individuals to manage pain and concerns independently.

Margaux Justice

Customer Care Manager

Margaux Justice one of our Customer Care Managers for The Healing Spot Physical Therapy. New to the role starting in 2021, she is the voice and support behind the phone.

Margaux graduated from Iowa State University in 2017 with a BA Degree in Psychology and Design Studies; thinking she’d go on to pursue her Masters in Art Therapy. However, fresh out of college, she was quickly disillusioned with the current healthcare system and realized it was not the appropriate avenue for her to truly help others in the ways they were seeking.

In 2018, shortly after moving to Colorado, she attended a Yoga Teacher Training program with Yoga Studio Satya and is now an RYT200 who guides weekly classes. Through Yoga she discovered Ayurveda, the sister science to Yoga, and is now a full time student studying Ayurvedic Medicine and Vitalist Herbalism.

As a Yoga guide and student of Ayurvedic Medicine, Margaux loves helping others discover their unique rhythm and harmony along their healing journey, and is in the process of beginning her own budding practice to offer this type of support and care to any and all who seek it.

Outside of work and her studies, Margaux enjoys working on projects around the home with her husband Jake, gardening, creating art, exploring dance and other forms of organic movement, as well as learning to play the lyre. Her little family also consists of two rescue pups, Uma and Sigrit, as well as three cats, Rhaego, Bugsy, and Sunni; all of whom are some of her greatest teachers and reminders to be joyful, present, and content in any given moment.
