Meet the Team

Justine Calderwood, MSPT

Owner And Founder Of The Healing Spot

Justine Calderwood, MSPT is Colorado Springs’ and Teller County’s leading physical therapist who specializes in helping women during pregnancy and beyond to heal and feel empowered. She loves helping women feel better and learn to manage their pain and concerns independently. She helps women in ways that often surprises them, coming from a physical therapy practice, and that’s what sets The Healing Spot Physical Therapy apart from the clinics down the street.

Justine founded The Healing Spot because she was frustrated with the way she saw her patients passed from therapist to therapist with little continuity of care, rushed through sessions and not given the time, attention and resources they needed to truly get better. She is a small town Iowa girl who was influenced by the integrity and nurturing of her family and she knew her patients deserved better care.

Justine saw the way women with pelvic health issues are treated in the traditional healthcare system and got frustrated with how many women are told that their pain and concerns (like leaking, pain with sex, prolapse, etc) are just “normal after having babies” or “it’s because you’re getting older” instead of being offered a
solution and peace of mind. Too many women are told to just live with it, to take medicine or that surgery is the only option. It’s her drive and passion for providing quality care while helping women avoid medications, injections and surgery that she pours into her work at The Healing Spot and into leading staff members.

Justine graduated with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from The University of Kansas Medical Center way back in 2002, and is a Certified Birth Healing Specialist, an Advanced Myofascial Release Therapist, a Reiki Master Practitioner and a Level 2 Low Pressure Fitness Trainer. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband Marc and their two children Taryn and Piper, working out at the gym and hiking with their two dogs, Ollie and Pennie. As a family you’ll often find them traveling, scuba diving, riding ATVs and snowmobiles and hanging out with friends and family.

Petra Snazle

Marketing Assistant and Virtual Assistant

Petra Snazle is the Marketing Assistant and Virtual Assistant for The Healing Spot. She has been helping behind-the-scenes since 2019. Petra enjoys daily family adventures with her husband John, her two boisterous boys Samuel and Martin, and their hyper border collie (Prince) Harry somewhere between the UK and Europe (due to the lockdown currently mainly near Prague, Czech Rep). As she’s ‘’pulling the strings’’ behind the scenes you can’t see her, but she can see you :-). Her main task is to make sure that you can see Justine and experience all the amazing work at The Healing Spot as much as possible. She manages all the behind-the-scenes work related to our social media, YouTube channel, email newsletter and online courses.

Margaux Justice

Customer Care Manager

Margaux Justice is the Customer Care Manager for The Healing Spot Physical Therapy. New to the role starting in 2021, she is the voice and support behind the phone.

Margaux graduated from Iowa State University in 2017 with a BA Degree in Psychology and Design Studies; thinking she’d go on to pursue her Masters in Art Therapy. However, fresh out of college, she was quickly disillusioned with the current healthcare system and realized it was not the appropriate avenue for her to truly help others in the ways they were seeking.

In 2018, shortly after moving to Colorado, she attended a Yoga Teacher Training program with Yoga Studio Satya and is now an RYT200 who guides weekly classes. Through Yoga she discovered Ayurveda, the sister science to Yoga, and is now a full time student studying Ayurvedic Medicine and Vitalist Herbalism.

As a Yoga guide and student of Ayurvedic Medicine, Margaux loves helping others discover their unique rhythm and harmony along their healing journey, and is in the process of beginning her own budding practice to offer this type of support and care to any and all who seek it.

Outside of work and her studies, Margaux enjoys working on projects around the home with her husband Jake, gardening, creating art, exploring dance and other forms of organic movement, as well as learning to play the lyre. Her little family also consists of two rescue pups, Uma and Sigrit, as well as three cats, Rhaego, Bugsy, and Sunni; all of whom are some of her greatest teachers and reminders to be joyful, present, and content in any given moment.
